After coming up with a concept for your blog and getting all of the technical details in order, you start to post great content and feel proud of what you’ve created.  The question is how do you get other people to think your blog is as great as you do?

When it comes to a successful blog, you are only as strong as your audience is large.  Growing an audience of unique visitors who not only land on your page but keep coming back is the key ingredient.  How do you go about bringing that audience in? Here are some tips for making it happen.

Start An Email List

Before you decide to launch your blog, make sure that you have at least 5 posts first.  Once the time has come to alert the masses, you’ll want to start an email campaign which alerts all of your friends and family about your new project.  They will receive alerts each time you want to inform them of a new event or post.

This is a great way to start with the audience that you already have in real life.  From there you can start to build outward.  But it is important to start with what you have.

Create a Facebook Ad

Consider starting an ad to run on Facebook which advertises your page to selected audiences.  You can choose the demographics you would like to target in order to find the best possible audience.

These ads are not expensive and can run for as long or as short as you want them to.  Since Facebook offers insights as to where and when people are clicking on your site you can start to get a better idea of where your audience is coming from.  This way you can start to aim relevant content in their direction.

Set Up Pay Per Click Advertising

Once your blog has a big enough audience you will start to get offers for advertising.  These pay per click advertisements are seen on the side, top, or bottom of your page as a banner.  When someone from your page clicks on it, you are paid.

Advertisers love being on popular blogs since they have huge visibility.  Remember, the more popular your blog is, the more ads you can make money off of.

Be careful, however, not to lose control.  It is important to keep the integrity of your page and creative vision rather than let it turn into one big advertisement.

Bring on Third Party Contributors

Sometimes a great way to bring on a new wave of fresh people to view your blog is by inviting third-party contributors.  By inviting someone else to write with you, they will, in turn, tell their network and bring extra traffic to the blog.
