Technology has shaped our lives beyond recognition. Whenever we look for information on a product, the first thing that the vast majority of us do is go online. But before this was the case, other methods were used in past.

In the past, businesses used to heavily rely on their stationery for running their business. Take for example, documentation. Before data clouds, paper files were stored and filed in cabinets within the work environment. This was all done manually. Other items of stationery were used in the work environment such as pens, highlighters, paper clips and printers and these were all commonplace and used on a daily basis. The drawback to these items was that the environmental waste related to them was quite high. Therefore, the production of paper required trees and once this paper was used within the work environment, it would then have to be stored, taking up valuable space. Even the way in which we used to promote business had an environmental impact as publication’s with adverts were sent out so that your business could be seen in public. This still happens today, but many companies now try to split this kind of advertising between digital and offline.

Once the digital explosion took place, it revolutionized the way in which businesses were run. Gone are the days of taking up high areas with storage facilities, as everything is stored online. This is even clear when you look at the way that businesses are developing and promoted online. For example, companies like Mandreel offer an online service which help to enhance your digital footprint. That said, many of use still crave an enjoy the old way of doing things. Take for example documentation that a company may need to send out. It’s a nice touch to send out documentation which has your company brand embossed on it. If you feel this way, then look to a Singapore rubber stamp maker who can blend the old fashioned way of doing things with modern technology still having its place.

The Influence of Social Media

Another area which has changed dramatically is our use of social media. When sites such as Facebook were first launched they were purely there for people to connect with each other. With time, things have changed as social media has become a great piece of technology used to advertise and promote businesses. Changes such as these are where the most amount of impact has been made when it comes to technology. Companies are now going to great lengths to make sure that they stay ahead of the game when it comes to social media, often employing teams of people to work with this technology.

The Future

You can clearly see that the changes that have happened have been gradual. It is easy to look back and think that these such changes took place overnight. But as new technology develops, these changes will continue to take place and once again we will continue to see how businesses develop with new technology.
