Startup companies are becoming more and more common. Many people are trying their hand at entrepreneurship, and with the many benefits to owning your own business, there’s no wonder why. Although starting a business may be a dream, it’s important to remember that a lot of hard work needs to go into making the company successful.

While you may not be able to take your company from startup to FORTUNE 500 overnight, there are a few things you can do to become more successful. The following are three great ways that you can growth-hack your startup and start generating more interest and revenue.

  1. Use social media.

Social media is one of the most popular—if not THE most popular—communication methods in the world today. Take advantage of this by creating social media accounts and campaigns for your new startup business, and then ask friends and family members to like, follow, and share. Doing so will allow you to reach friends, and friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends, and so on, in order to boost the visibility of your company. The more people who know about your company’s existence, the more successful you can be.

If you’re going to use social media, it’s important that you remember to be active on the social media sites. If you just create a page and don’t engage with your audience, this marketing tactic will not be effective.

  1. Create a website.

Having a website is another great way to grow your business. Most people today are connected to some type of online device, so you can share more information about your company to a wider audience in a smaller amount of time. Make sure that your site uses keywords to help boost your SEO and to let your target audience learn more about you. You should also add links to your social media sites (and vice versa) in order to boost traffic and visibility.

If your company is selling a product or service, try to ensure that your website allows your customers to make a purchase (or set up a consultation) from your site. This is attractive to customers and a great way to boost business. Plus, with the ease of use, your customer will likely come back to purchase again and be more willing to tell friends and family about their experience with you, which can also make your business grow.

  1. Have consistent branding.

Successful companies have consistent branding, so it’s important that you do the same. Create a logo, tagline, and choose brand colors, fonts, and other design elements that will represent your brand. Then, create marketing collateral that has this branding in place. For example, getting some bumper stickers for business or utilizing sticker printing with your logo can help promote your brand in untraditional ways. You can place the bumper stickers on your personal vehicle or use them as swag to help promote your brand. Ensuring that your branding is consistent between the material and your website and social media accounts will help you boost your visibility and help customers remember who you are.
